EID Design Team Member Darren Cloutier worked closely with local Hilton management and Hospitality Interior Design Consultants HBA to update the interior finishes of all guest elevator cabs to compliment the Art Deco stylings of the historic Batterymarch Building.
Built in 1928 as Boston’s first Art Deco style skyscraper, the 15-story Hilton Boston Downtown Faneuil Hall now stands among the city’s downtown high-rise towers. The Batterymarch Building, as it was originally known, was designed by architect Harold Field Kellogg, and remains an architectural landmark. Using Bendheim Antique Laminated Mirror upper fields, Cambridge Architectural Wire Mesh Sawgrass 33B lower fields and EID’s custom traditional stile and rail system, the team created a timeless design with durable finishes able to withstand typical hotel traffic patterns.
